Beach!
The best pictures are taken in places you don't go very often, or one in a lifetime chances. This summer, I went to the beach with my best friend Haley, so I took some random pictures to remember it. It was a pretty awesome day overall.

Food!
I am kind of hungry right now, because I am trying to get things done instead of relaxing. So I decided to do a picture journey on food. One day, after coming back from a tournament, I stopped at this cute little bistro and Ordered some lemon bars. They were so incredibly good, but were also really interesting looking. Of course, I just had to take some pictures of it.

Another Picture journey!
This picture journey is about floral things, and pretty much plants period. I love taking pictures of nature, and I feel like most of my best pictures are taken outside or of really pretty flowers.
Here are some really pretty lotus flower I wish I could take some pictures of. Too bad I dont have a pond.
One day, I was at my grandmother's house, waiting for my cousins to come and pick me up. I went outside to swing (haha. Yeah I am still like a seven year old) and I saw her really pretty flowers in her garden. I retrieved my handy camera from my pocket and started snapping pictures.
Here are some really pretty lotus flower I wish I could take some pictures of. Too bad I dont have a pond.

One of my Picture Journeys
Sometimes, when I have nothing to do, I just randomly take pictures. Even if the pictures are not of extraordinary things, I can make them look cool with the different photography ideas that i already posted.
My first picture journey happened at a volleyball tournament. We were at a pool, lounging and swimming, and it was about five o'clock. The sun was going down and I thought it looked really pretty. I threw the inflatable volleyball into the pool, as lame as it sounds, i then followed it across the pool and incorporated the sun, the ball, and the pool all together. I thought it was pretty cool.
My water shots, however, are really not as impressive as this one.. But I'll just keep trying! :)

"New" Photography.
Diane Arbus is a rather new photographer from moderately our time. She lived from 1923- 1971 and was featured in many museums like the San Fransisco Museum of Modern Art and also the The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Some may not know of her, but a movie about her life was made and Nicole Kidman played her.

History of Pictures :)
In the year 2009 that we live in, pictures are taken easily and digitally. If we dont like a picture, we can just delete it and then retake it. It was different for people in the early times, who had to wait a hours just to obtain one picture!
The first photograph was actually taken in 1827by Niepce, which required eight hours to even develop it!
Here is a black and white picture, it kind of looks like it was taken in old times. Maybe Niepce would approve!

FLORAL THINGS!
Taking pictures of flowers is definitely my favorite thing to do. It lets nature look beautiful, and they are the best subjects because they never move!
Digital Macro is a great setting for this type of photography and if executed in the right way, it can look pretty amazing.
If you really want to spice up your photography, add another element into the picture. It can be an object or anything you would like it to be.
This is a really helpful page for taking pictures of flowers!
This is a picture of my dog and a pretty flower I found in my backyard. This was a little trickier because by dog is annoying and doesn't like to sit still.

Sometimes, the most artistic photos can mean nothing. The best pictures can be thought or emotion provoking. These are the type of pictures that send messages through what they depict.
Most of the time, these pictures involve cute things like babies or puppies. Probably the cutest pictures involve babies AND puppies. Whoever doesn't like pictures of puppies and/or babies really is just mean.
The point of this story is, don't just throw out pictures of random leaves or arbitrary shadows. It is nice every once and a while to take some pictures of your family, friends, or just the things that matter to you.

Focus
One of the prettiest things to do for your pictures to make it more interesting, is to focus it. The best thing to do is to focus on one thing and let the rest of the background be blurry. It makes your picture look more professional and really just all around better looking! It is one of the coolest things to do and I always use it in my photography. The Canon brand of cameras usually have a setting called "Digital Macro", which is the setting used for close-up pictures.

HOW TO GET A PERFECT PICTURE.
For a fun way to make sure you can get a great picture, follow these simple instructions to make a photo shoot.
1. Gather a bunch of random objects.
2. Set these said "random objects" on a table/ stool/ flat surface
3. Turn off all lights
4. Find a light and shine it on your table/ stool/ flat surface.
5. Arrange your objects in the way you would like.
6. Take pictures from different angles until you have the perfect picture.
This is a really pretty picture I found of food. That is really fun to take pictures of too!
This is a rose that fell out of the sky, while I was walking home from the ice cream shoppe. I decided to take it home because it was so beautiful. :D

Luck! (I kinda made this one up...)
I don't know about anyone else, but I always have my camera with me. Some of my friends call me a nerd, or make fun of me being "attached" to my camera. It is pretty much worth everything when I capture a moment that not only looks pretty, but also helps me to remember that time.
With my camera and I, its always a matter of luck if I can get the shot, but always having it around is a great help too!
Not all pictures have to be incredibly artistic to still be great shots, as long as they mean something to someone, then you have done your job as a photographer. Carrying a camera everywhere can be a great way to ensure you always get a great shot. Maybe not for yourself, but for someone else. It is also great practice to always have a camera, so when the time comes to get that great shot, snap away!

Along my many travels, I happened to take a journey to Holmes' County, Ohio, the largest Amish community in the United States. While touring the barn, I came across this darling dog, who I just HAD to take a picture of. Its pretty cute. :)

COLORS!
The Beauty of Color.
It's a good thing we live in these advanced times because, believe it or not, there once was a time where all pictures weren't previewed before being put up on a social networking site or even in color!
Color is a major part of photography. It draws the eyes and makes pictures interesting. There should be one particular point of interest so the viewers aren't confused about the picture.
To make an interesting yet sensible picture, you need to make sure the colors in the picture make sense. You can use the color wheel to match up complimentary colors, or experience with light and shadows to create contrast.
Another way to create a good looking picture, is to make the focus of the picture stand out with the color, thus making the background, which is not the focus, recede into the back of the picture, like it is supposed to.
Anyways, adding color and complimenting colors can enhance not only the colors in the picture but also, the quality of the picture itself.

One of the most important aspects of photography is ORDER. You have to place your camera and objects in a way that looks good. Pictures are not just there, they are created.
To take a ascetically pleasing photo, there has to be some sort of formation or idea having formed in your mind. A good photographer, who truly knows the art, sees as though they ARE the camera. That may sound a little cheesy, and moderately too much like a personification, to be a camera, but really, whatever moments you have that make you catch your breath, or pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming, THESE are the precise moments to capture with just a click of a button.
You need to be able to see how a camera does. A camera, whatever camera, only sees what you point it to. If a layout of a picture looks bad it the camera, it doesn't matter if it is pretty. A absolute must in photography is to put the objects in order and layer them so they look good, themselves, and also all together.

First Post. (Prologue we'll call it.)
So, pretty much, photography started out as just a hobby.
this is a picture i took on the jersey shore this summer :)
I would snap a few shots here, take a few pics there, but never really strived to achieve anything with my innocent past time.
After hours of pouring over my computer screen, editing and analyzing my pictures, I realized that there was an actual art to doing this. By using just my little digital camera, I could express myself in the easiest way - capturing the moments that move me.
Photography is now not only a hobby for me but also something I can do for the rest of my life. maybe as a career.. or just being really good at it would be cool too.
So, now, This is my journey as I explore the different facets of the great art of Photography, exploring and soaking in as much information as I can to perfect my pictures.
